JOY

This card was made for the following challenges:

Marks Finest Papers #31 - Bows
Bellichallenge #105 - Letter "R" embellishments (red ribbon, red hearts!)

I LOVE how simple this card is, I'm thinking of using it as our personal card for the season. It's simple enough to make, all I need is a few good flower punches. I had these off-white flowers that I used my watercolors on this afternoon and arranged them in a little circle then added a bow. Nothin' to it! The yellow paper I used actually did come in a Christmas packet I got on sale recently, otherwise I don't think it would occur to me to use it... I'm glad I did!
This long weekend was spent cooking, hanging out with family and the hubby who just came back from a trip. I made my own turkey which came out a teeny bit dry, but it was pretty good for my second try! I have to say, I think every year I will do that now that I know how easy (and cheap) it is. This way, we can have our OWN leftovers, and eat turkey for days after, believe me, it would be heaven! I spent HOURS and HOURS making cards and scouring the 'net for more challenges, and am ready to get back to work.

Thanks for stopping by y'all & have a great week!

I Did It!

This card was made for the following challenges:

Craft Your Day Away #9 - Texture
Christmas Stampin' #72 - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments #45 - Anything Goes

The little ornaments I placed on this card are a project that has been a long time in the making. I think I saw this technique in a scrapbooking magazine this summer, and tried it so many times always ending in error! I couldn't get the buggers to stay stuck in a circle for the life of me. Finally, I knew I had to do it, and thanks to double side tape and heavy stickers, I have. Phew! I wonder how everyone else gets them to stay stuck??

Turn Over A New Leaf!

It's called being a SPAZ, folks. Yep, I couldn't hang with only having entered three challenges, so I've gone and done it again. But seriously, the other two cards were made over the last two days or so, and this was from tonight. I was SUPER inspired by the people who already entered the Pals Paper Arts Challenge #70, and that is where this began. I started to remember all the paper I have in my arsenal, and started putting them together in my mind. I am DYing to buy some more, but I have promised myself that I'd use what I have before I go bonkers again. Isn't it hard to go into Michaels or JoAnn and NOT buy? Sheesh.

Animals + Circles = this card!! :)

This card was made for the following challenges:

* Anything Goes #26: Animals
* Crazy4Challenges #64: Circles

I realize that this card is both busy AND missing a little oomph. I just can't figure it out! Don't you hate it when you have this feeling with a project? Same goes, I'm sure, with scrapbooking or whatever... you have a finished project, and yet you don't have that finished feeling. I sort of wish I would've used real ribbon or maybe glitter on the banner part. Anyway, this is it! I plan on using my next day and a half off from work to work on my sister's baby shower invites and also more of me & Sam's personal holiday cards that should have already gone out! I love it when I'm on time with this stuff, it so rarely happens, though. I also wanted to make a packet of gift tags to give to all the ladies in the family to use throughout the year. I have my work cut out for me, better get going!

Untraditional Happy Holidays!

This card was made especially for the Creative Challenges Blog.  Their newest challenge is an "Untraditional Christmas" theme.  I thought about it, and came up with the most un-Christmas-like color I could think of and went to work.  This isn't my best work, but it's what came out of last night!  I'm upset I forgot to add the hole at the top, but oh well, maybe I still can.

Christmas Love!

Okay, this is for the following challenges:

- Alota Rubber Stamps: Christmas Challenge #47
- Crazy 4 Challenges: #63
- 2 Sisters Challenges Blog: CHRISTMAS
- The ABC Challenge: H is for holiday
- Flourishes: Challenge # 93

- Meljen's Design Team and Challenge Blog: # 34
- ABC Christmas Challenge: X is for Xmas

Yes, yes folks, I realize that I'm a blog-postin', challenge-enterin' fool lately, but can you fault me?! With so many challenges, and so much cute and beautiful inspiring work going on out there, I just cannot hold back. Thus, this card. It is a pop-up card, and I wish you could see the cute holly leaf w/berries on the other side of that pop-up, I worked hard on that! But, i don't want to be a spaz... unless I am already?! :) Okay, that is all for tonight, more manana, Im sure! (As the ideas won't stop coming!)

Donut Be Sad!

This cutie pie card was made for the following challenges:

 - CASE Study Challenge # 15
 - Little Paper Shop Challenge # 94 Die Cuts

I had to take a little break from the Christmas, Thanksgiving and recent baby shower stuff I've been working on! This was made last night, and as simple as it looks, I spent lots of time figuring out every little piece... man, less doesn't necessarily mean less work!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Handmade Christmas Gift

Hello again y'all, it's another challenge for today; we've got the Secret Crafter's challenge: Handmade Christmas gift! I have been working on the box for awhile, but I have finally finished it, along with the cards. Phew! They are going to be gifted this season for sure. I wanted to do all "postage stamp" cards, but they just didn't turn out as cute as I thought they would. Maybe smaller circle punch is necessary here... anyway, this is a complete set of assorted cards.

Have a great weekend everyone, and great work entered so far!

Anything Goes Challenge - Let It Snow

This card was created for the Anything Goes Challenge Blog, this week's theme is: "Let It Snow" for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #57 "Not so traditional" and for Craft Your Days Away's Challenge #8: Christmas Trees.  I have been trying, lately, to make holiday cards without the obvious green and red theme. I am trying to expand into warm colors and non-traditional prints. Hope it still has that warm, fuzzy Christmas-y feeling! I probably should have inked the edges of Rudolph's body, but I didn't want to take a chance after having worked so hard on him!

PPA Clean and Simple Challenge

Hello folks! The challenge at Pals Paper Arts has inspired me and this is what that looks like.  I was brought to PPA via my new friend, Stampwithsass.blogspot.com, and am just as inspired by them as I am by her and so many others.  The ribbon is only the icing on top of this one, but it's definitely what ties it all together, I think.  I am huge on clean and simple style, so I love this challenge.
I'm now off to create more, and while my other half is out of town, I can keep my crafting space messy and not worry (the way I worry him if he does it with HIS art!:))  Later gators!

Holiday Die Cut Challenge!!

I love this holiday card, mostly because it has such a Caribbean feeling to it (to me, it does!)  I mean, it's sunny during the holidays there, isn't it?  I got to thinking about warm Christmas theme cards... the wheels are turning.  Anyway, hope this one can stand up to all the amazing entries already in... later gators!

SOLO BOXEO!!

Well heh, I'm not a Spanish speaker but the topic is: BOXES, and so it seemed appropriate.  I have been (as you well know) on a holiday card kick, and fully intend on selling them.  But, how does one package said cards?  Well, it's funny I should ask; it's boxes, my friend!!!!  I have gone to: www.splitcoaststampers.com and went to their tutorial section and found many a recipe for boxes of all sizes!  Last night I made a box that would fit about 6-8 cards with envelopes, and I think I've hit the jackpot of not having to buy the darn things!  I was thinking of tying them in bundles as well, but the boxes give them such a polished look.

The sides are a little tricky, but what's a good crafting session without a little frustration?!  I joke, I joke... it's not that serious.  I think, also, that I could leave the sides plain and tie it up with a ribbon, and I'm going to add a little tag, maybe, with some dimension dots to the top with a nice holiday sentiment.  (I need the alphabet stamps I saw in Jo-Ann yesterday... grr)

I'm going to continue with the holiday work, and try to post the results.  I will also keep adding to my Etsy.

Holiday Cards Continued...

The holiday card making continues.  I found this really cute holiday/christmas paper at a craft store and got lots of ideas, but am also trying to do something different.  I'm seeing a lot of the holiday cards out there, and it's the same 'ol same 'ol: green and red.  It's tough to come up with new holiday-ish color schemes, but purple and silver seems to work!  I also tried to design a card that's easy to assemble and sell them in packs of five (on Etsy, my store name: Jeljelbinks).

Here they are:

I love the simplicity here, and it was easy to assemble (after I cut out all those ornaments!)  I will design two or three more of this type of small card to sell in packs.  This wasn't my normal 5"x6.5" size, I think it's 4"x5".  I found some really nice plastic packets to put them in, so we'll see how it goes.  At the very least, all my Christmas cards this year will be taken care of.  I was thinking about giving them out as gifts for my loved ones next year... is that corny?  I am just stuck, and I wonder if other crafters out there have this problem too, I don't know what to do with all the stuff I make, after I make it!  I have a huge surplus of cards and there aren't enough occasions to get rid of them!  Also, as I KNOW other crafters (especially scrapbookers, stampers and card-ies) know, this is an addictive and expensive hobby.  There's always ONE more little doodad we want and eventually need.  I see all you lucky women out there with their own little craft room, and I'm jealous!  I would totally do that at my apartment if I didn't feel the need for a living room!  (I joke, sort of...)

Well, that's all for now, folks.  I plan on trying to enter a few challenges this week, as well, so see ya later!
